The Bachelorette: Ep. 2

Happy Memorial Day and Bachelorette Monday, Bachelor Nation!

The season premiere is always a whirlwind, between drunken bachelors and cheesy introductions, we don’t really start to get a good feel for the guys until episode two. So tonight’s episode was sure to be a bit more revealing.

***Spoiler Alert***

The Gal

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, JoJo is a bit hung-up on Ben. She brings him up multiple times in this episode. Get over it girlfriend, you’ve got a whole different group of guys here now.

The Guys

So first group date. Chad has a theory that it’s the B-list guys, and I kinda, sorta agree. In a major plot twist the actual firefighter won the firefighting challenge on the group date, so off Grant goes, to some one-on-one time with JoJo and a not so romantic kiss. Poor Wells was tortured throughout this date, after almost dying throughout the less intensive firefighter drill, he gets chosen for the more intensive firefighter drill… good thinking. But apparently JoJo likes men a little out of shape, so he gets the rose. He was so cute throughout it though I can’t blame her.

One-Piece Wonders

I’m channeling my inner toddler today and finally embracing the one-piece trend. When I think about one-piece bathing suits I can’t help but picture tiny toddlers running around the beach with their little round bellies poking out.

I’ll admit I’ve been loving them from afar for a while but have been hesitant to try one on. There are SO many cute options out there though, I feel like I finally need to try them out. I’ve compiled some of my favorites for this summer. I’m loving lace up, cutouts, scallops and fun patterns. Check my one-piece wonder picks below.

So what do you think of one-pieces? Just for toddlers or totally trendy?

On My Radar

Happy Friday Lovelies!

This week’s been grand, but I’m wishing the weekend would come a bit sooner. I cannot wait for a three day weekend! The Bachelorette is finally back so Mondays are now tolerable aaand I’ll be posting about each episode every week. Check out my episode one recap here. I’m organizing a Bachelorette bracket within my office and I couldn’t be more excited, such a fun way to bring coworkers together, especially if you missed out on the March Madness hysteria. Anyway off of reality tv and back to reality. Here’s what’s been on my radar this week.

This pizza! Just kidding, but it was pretty delicious. This picture is from a lunch with coworkers this week. It was so nice outside so we sat on the patio. I can’t wait for more summer days just like this one.

Tassels & Cold Shoulders

Tassels and cold shoulders go together like peanut butter and jelly. In other words, they’re a perfect match. The statement jewels that typically come down to your shoulders, are the perfect accent piece to an off-the-shoulder blouse or dress, and a combination I simply just cannot resist. I found multiple bloggers that I follow recommend this Asos number. At only $25 I couldn’t say no. It comes in a few colors, but I went with the classic black so I could add pops of color in accessories.

Speaking of accessories, I paired this dress with these BaubleBar beaded tassel earrings, and I love the combination. They’re so fun and bring in the perfect pop of pink to the outfit.

The Bachelorette: Ep. 1

The time has finally come ladies (and unabashed men)! The Bachelorette is back, and there’s finally a reason to look forward to Mondays again. I’ve seriously been counting down to the live-tweeting, yelling-at-the-tv, gossip-inducing drama of Monday nights and the season 12 premiere did not disappoint.

**Spoiler alert**

The Gal

Oh Jojo. I’ll admit, she was not my favorite last season. I was rooting for Becca, but I think I can get on Team Jojo this time around. She was so sweet to all the guys on night one, even the strange and slightly awkward ones. (Lookin’ at your Will.) And she seems genuinely ready to meet her husband.

The Guys

Upon first glance of the bachelors, I was not so impressed. But man, did the men bring it for episode one.

On My Radar

This week has been crazy, but so fun! It started off with a food truck festival downtown where my friend Morgan and I snacked on ice cream sandwiches (see below) and sausage-stuffed baguettes. Delicious! Then a jam-packed workweek included some spinning with coworkers for Bike to Work Week. I’m also getting ready for a wedding this weekend and I’ve been stressing over what to wear. I’m currently deciding between two dresses (this one and this one) I ordered offline from Nordstrom. What do you think? I’m still working on shoes and accessories for both and the wedding is Saturday – oops. Anyway here’s whats been on my radar this week.

Florals for Spring

Florals for spring? Groundbreaking. Name that movie.

Happy Tuesday! I was loving this warm spring weather we were having in North Carolina lately. It made me want to live in fun dresses for the next four months. Of course after a few sunny weeks in a row, this week is all clouds and rain. So let’s just pretend we’re back in last week when it was sunny and 70 degrees, and I shot this outfit.

This dress is another J.Crew Factory find. I love that it’s a shift dress, and such a simple but flattering shape. I’ll be wearing this dress non-stop this summer to work. Such an easy outfit to throw on in the morning. For this outfit I played up the dress’ punchy pink pattern with this pink Kate Spade tote and neutral accessories.

On My Radar

This week has gone by so slowly. Every day I’ve woken up thinking it was Friday, and being sadly mistaken. Between graduation and a going away party last weekend, I think I just needed one more day to recover. I’m excited to have a day to myself this weekend to run some errands and soak up the sun by the pool finally. Sunday, my friends and I plan to go to a food truck festival downtown, and I’m so excited. Why is it that food is so much better out of a truck? Anyway, here’s what’s been on my radar this week.

Spring Stripes

Happy Wednesday!

Today I’m sharing a sweet striped look for spring-perfect for a dinner date with your girlfriends or a business casual work affair. Majority of my closet is from J.Crew, making almost my entire wardrobe perfectly appropriate work pieces that are transitional enough to dress up or down for the weekend. That’s a big reason I love the brand and continue to buy from them.

This dress is no exception. I picked it up from J.Crew Factory when I was home last weekend because it’s cotton, super comfortable and easy to style. I’m also loving stripes this season so it was a no-brainer. I paired it with brown leather accessories, poppy colored lips and a statement necklace bringing in the perfect amount of color.

As far as bags go, this one’s a favorite. This Michael Kors purse is my go-to. I love that it’s structured and holds all my essentials and it works for almost any occasion, work and play. Definitely a classic piece, fitting in well with the transitional style of this outfit.

I Got It From My Mama

Happy Mothers Day to all the beautiful Mama’s out there!

Unfortunately I couldn’t be with my mom today (I spent last weekend with her instead), but I had lunch with a few girlfriends today and we were talking about how thankful we are for having supportive parents and incredible mothers. We all agreed that mothers are absolutely always right. When you’re younger and living with your parents, their rules and preferences can seem annoying and redundant, but as you get older and live on your own, it’s suddenly clear as day that Mother’s are always right about everything.
