On My Radar

Hey strangers, it’s been a while.

I feel I should probably give some explanation as to my absence on the blog. This blog stuff is a lot of work. Props to all those gals who do this full time, jeez! Between planning, writing, taking photos and brainstorming future posts I was getting a little overwhelmed. I was trying to stick to a steady schedule of posting because by the standards of the practice, that’s what you do. But I found myself posting just to post and writing just to write, therefore losing inspiration and the reason behind starting this blog in the first place. To become inspired and (hopefully) inspire others.

So I’m back, or for now at least. Now back to your regular scheduled programming… here’s what’s been on my radar lately!

Away Travel

A suitcase seems like a strange thing to impulse buy, right? Well I did just that last week, after about 24 hours of consideration. Away Travel is just too good to pass up. They make the coolest suitcases, not only are they guaranteed for life but they have built in USB chargers AND you can add a hand-painted monogram. Obviously that’s what I did. I went with The Bigger Carry On, The Monogram Edition, in navy blue. I added a block monogram in white, with a black shadow for a classic look. I literally cannot wait until it arrives. In the meantime, I’ll be planning a ton of trips so I can show it off.

The Nightingale

After a friend continued to recommend The Nightingale to me (looking at you Kappler), I basically had to read it. Upon first glance the plot didn’t really pull me in, but after getting about 50 pages in I couldn’t put it down. The book follows two vastly different sisters in Paris throughout WWII, as their lives are turned upside down by the Nazi invasion. The ending is also pretty amazing. I can’t say enough good things about this book.

Ellen & Kristen Play Heads Up

I’m obviously obsessed with Ellen. Who isn’t? But there’s something about Kristen Bell and Ellen together that is always SO funny, and this clip is proof of that. Watch them play Heads Up dressed as leprechauns, and simultaneously seriously bruise their knees. You should also probably watch Kristen’s husband Dax’s recent appearance on Ellen when he chats about the talk show hosts’ involvement in the couple’s recent argument. Hilarious.

So, what’s been on your radar lately? Tell me in the comments below.
