Jean Dream

I’ve gone way too long without proper jean shorts. Before purchasing these recently, I only owned one pair of plain old cuffed denim shorts, and they were American Eagle. I felt like a tween in them. So I went out and bought myself a pair of ‘adult denim shorts’ (from J.Crew of course) and I’m obsessed. These are so comfortable, I’ll be living in them on the weekends.

Here I paired them with an embroidered J.Crew tunic and embellished sandals topped off with a nude cross body and field jacket. I’m realizing now this entire outfit is J.Crew, **insert monkey with hands over eyes emoji** I have a problem. Anyway, I wore this outfit recently for a Saturday exploring the local Farmers Market. I picked up some local gouda cheese (literally amazing), and some sunflowers while snacking on some roasted corn. A successful Saturday if I do say so myself.

Printed Pants

Haaay friends, who’s excited about a three day weekend?! We’re so so close!

So, I recently stumbled upon these pants online while browsing a sale J.Crew was having and I was smitten. I walked into the store the next day to try them on, just to try them on. I was secretly hoping I wouldn’t love them as much on, but of course as soon as they were on my legs I refused to take them off. Justifying the purchase with the 30% sale that was currently going on I walked out of the store with them in hand [read: in bag] and that was the end of that. But they really were a great purchase. They’re so comfy, machine washable and such a fun print, I’ve worn them so many times already I couldn’t imagine not having bought them.

These pants are especially great for chilly days in the office when the AC is cranked and I’m shivering at my desk. But they’re also light and airy enough that they’re totally bearable in the serious heat outside too. But they’re comfy enough to lounge around in at home too. Super transitional, which is a must for my wardrobe. Here I styled them with a light chambray shirt and embellished sandals, perfect for inside of a chilly office. What do ya think?!

Monday Mules

I’ve been wanting a pair of Mules for a while now. My favorite thing about them is that they can be so effortlessly styled from day to night. They’re the perfect sandal for work-still conservative but peep toe so you can show off your latest pedicure. (New graduates: take note, you need these in your new work wardrobe.) But they’re funky (LOL) enough to pair with distressed jeans and a casual tee for a cool weekend look. I’ve been holding out because I haven’t found a pair I love, until I stumbled upon these J.Crew Factory ones. They’re originally $138, but on sale for $69 right now. With a deal like that, I couldn’t say no. Plus I’ve never been disappointed by a pair of shoes from J.Crew Factory.

Here I paired the shoes with a simple navy Madewell A-line dress and a cheetah print clutch. This is an outfit that can totally go from a day at the office to drinks after work. Just throw the clutch in your tote stocked with lipstick and face powder and you’re ready to go. I wear this dress to work all the time because it’s super easy to throw on and go, and with a touch of lipstick and a statement bag, it works for the wine bar after work as well!

Weekend Wedges

So I’ve been on the hunt for the past few months for the perfect espadrille wedge. I’m not sure what my recent obsession with shoes are but there are just so many fun options this season, I can’t help myself.

Obviously these Chloe wedges have been everywhere, and they’re beautiful…but I’m not about to spend $700 on a pair of shoes. So I’ve been on the lookout for a similar style with a not-so-similar price. Marc Fisher has made a few shoes with a very similar style, so I went with these. They’re SO comfortable, so I won’t be taking them off. I plan to wear them with cuffed jeans and fun tops, springy dresses and shorts all summer long.

Pink Palm Leaves

Happy Wednesday pretties!

In search of a dress for a recent wedding I stumbled upon this TopShop palm leaf number. I didn’t end up wearing it for the wedding but I couldn’t stand to return it because I think it’ll be the perfect dress for summer. And I love it even more on! The palm print is my favorite part of this dress, it’s such a fun pattern for summer and I’ve been looking for a palm piece for a while now. This frock can be dressed up with heels and jewelry, or dressed down with sandals and a jean jacket and I’ll totally be taking advantage of its transitional style all summer long.

Wedding Wear

If you’ve been following my most recent posts, you’ve read about my dilemma in finding a dress to wear to a wedding I attended a few weekends ago. I didn’t technically need to buy a new dress, but it was an excuse to shop, so of course I took advantage of it. I found this dress online at Nordstrom, and it was a steal at less than $50. Unfortunately it’s not available online anymore, but I’ve linked a similar dress below.

I paired this floral dress with white Kendra Scott earrings and sand suede Steve Madden strappy heels, and I love how the outfit turned out. The dress can be re-worn to summer dinners and parties and the shoes to work or casually with jeans and a tee.

One-Piece Wonders

I’m channeling my inner toddler today and finally embracing the one-piece trend. When I think about one-piece bathing suits I can’t help but picture tiny toddlers running around the beach with their little round bellies poking out.

I’ll admit I’ve been loving them from afar for a while but have been hesitant to try one on. There are SO many cute options out there though, I feel like I finally need to try them out. I’ve compiled some of my favorites for this summer. I’m loving lace up, cutouts, scallops and fun patterns. Check my one-piece wonder picks below.

So what do you think of one-pieces? Just for toddlers or totally trendy?

Tassels & Cold Shoulders

Tassels and cold shoulders go together like peanut butter and jelly. In other words, they’re a perfect match. The statement jewels that typically come down to your shoulders, are the perfect accent piece to an off-the-shoulder blouse or dress, and a combination I simply just cannot resist. I found multiple bloggers that I follow recommend this Asos number. At only $25 I couldn’t say no. It comes in a few colors, but I went with the classic black so I could add pops of color in accessories.

Speaking of accessories, I paired this dress with these BaubleBar beaded tassel earrings, and I love the combination. They’re so fun and bring in the perfect pop of pink to the outfit.

Florals for Spring

Florals for spring? Groundbreaking. Name that movie.

Happy Tuesday! I was loving this warm spring weather we were having in North Carolina lately. It made me want to live in fun dresses for the next four months. Of course after a few sunny weeks in a row, this week is all clouds and rain. So let’s just pretend we’re back in last week when it was sunny and 70 degrees, and I shot this outfit.

This dress is another J.Crew Factory find. I love that it’s a shift dress, and such a simple but flattering shape. I’ll be wearing this dress non-stop this summer to work. Such an easy outfit to throw on in the morning. For this outfit I played up the dress’ punchy pink pattern with this pink Kate Spade tote and neutral accessories.

Spring Stripes

Happy Wednesday!

Today I’m sharing a sweet striped look for spring-perfect for a dinner date with your girlfriends or a business casual work affair. Majority of my closet is from J.Crew, making almost my entire wardrobe perfectly appropriate work pieces that are transitional enough to dress up or down for the weekend. That’s a big reason I love the brand and continue to buy from them.

This dress is no exception. I picked it up from J.Crew Factory when I was home last weekend because it’s cotton, super comfortable and easy to style. I’m also loving stripes this season so it was a no-brainer. I paired it with brown leather accessories, poppy colored lips and a statement necklace bringing in the perfect amount of color.

As far as bags go, this one’s a favorite. This Michael Kors purse is my go-to. I love that it’s structured and holds all my essentials and it works for almost any occasion, work and play. Definitely a classic piece, fitting in well with the transitional style of this outfit.
