Recently a few friends and I headed West to Asheville, NC for a Saturday adventure. We didn’t have a plan for the day, but sometimes that’s the best way to explore- stumbling upon treasures as you go. We put ‘Downtown Asheville, NC’ in our iPhones, parked in the first garage we found and headed off on foot. We spent the day wandering the streets, finding bright boutiques, quaint coffee shops and eccentric restaurants. Unfortunately we didn’t get to experience The Biltmore Estate (next time), one of Asheville’s most popular attractions, but we did find a few sweet spots instead. Here are a few of my favorites…
I’m not a big city gal, never have been. But there’s something about a weekend in a new city that’s refreshing and magical and D.C. is my absolute favorite. Starting with an eighth grade field trip that was admittedly not appreciated enough and visits to college friends here and there I’ve seen the standard tourist attractions, but every trip finds me discovering something new.
A recent weekend in our nation’s capital for a spinning fundraiser (Cycle for Survival) reminded me of my obsession with the city. Guided by a D.C. native (and soul sister), we visited a few of D.C. gems.
