Jean Dream

I’ve gone way too long without proper jean shorts. Before purchasing these recently, I only owned one pair of plain old cuffed denim shorts, and they were American Eagle. I felt like a tween in them. So I went out and bought myself a pair of ‘adult denim shorts’ (from J.Crew of course) and I’m obsessed. These are so comfortable, I’ll be living in them on the weekends.

Here I paired them with an embroidered J.Crew tunic and embellished sandals topped off with a nude cross body and field jacket. I’m realizing now this entire outfit is J.Crew, **insert monkey with hands over eyes emoji** I have a problem. Anyway, I wore this outfit recently for a Saturday exploring the local Farmers Market. I picked up some local gouda cheese (literally amazing), and some sunflowers while snacking on some roasted corn. A successful Saturday if I do say so myself.

On My Radar

Hola amigos! (Look Mom, 14 years of Spanish classes paying off!)

There’s two on my radar posts up this week (the first was posted a little late – oops!), so double dose of pop culture and a few of my favorite things. Anyway, the three day weekend is finally here! I have no big plans unfortunately, but I’ll probably dig into a new book, try to catch some fireworks downtown and lay by the pool (but wish I was on a beach instead). Here’s a few things that caught my eye this week.

A little snap of a hike my dad and I did last weekend when he visited. How beautiful is this view?! Even with the clouds it’s amazing.

On My Radar

Hello lovelies!

I’m exhausted! This weekend my Dad came to visit me in North Carolina! I love when family and friends visit because I can show them my favorite places to eat and my favorite things to do. And we had a jam-packed weekend, to say the least. We went on a hike, perused the local Farmer’s Market, went to a baseball game and had the best meals ever (still thinking about the heavenly ahi tuna I had Friday night). Anyway here’s what’s been on my radar this week…

Check out these gorgeous pink hydrangeas (my favorite) that we stumbled upon while exploring a local arboretum. So so pretty!

Weekend Wedges

So I’ve been on the hunt for the past few months for the perfect espadrille wedge. I’m not sure what my recent obsession with shoes are but there are just so many fun options this season, I can’t help myself.

Obviously these Chloe wedges have been everywhere, and they’re beautiful…but I’m not about to spend $700 on a pair of shoes. So I’ve been on the lookout for a similar style with a not-so-similar price. Marc Fisher has made a few shoes with a very similar style, so I went with these. They’re SO comfortable, so I won’t be taking them off. I plan to wear them with cuffed jeans and fun tops, springy dresses and shorts all summer long.

Wedding Wear

If you’ve been following my most recent posts, you’ve read about my dilemma in finding a dress to wear to a wedding I attended a few weekends ago. I didn’t technically need to buy a new dress, but it was an excuse to shop, so of course I took advantage of it. I found this dress online at Nordstrom, and it was a steal at less than $50. Unfortunately it’s not available online anymore, but I’ve linked a similar dress below.

I paired this floral dress with white Kendra Scott earrings and sand suede Steve Madden strappy heels, and I love how the outfit turned out. The dress can be re-worn to summer dinners and parties and the shoes to work or casually with jeans and a tee.

On My Radar

This week has gone by so slowly. Every day I’ve woken up thinking it was Friday, and being sadly mistaken. Between graduation and a going away party last weekend, I think I just needed one more day to recover. I’m excited to have a day to myself this weekend to run some errands and soak up the sun by the pool finally. Sunday, my friends and I plan to go to a food truck festival downtown, and I’m so excited. Why is it that food is so much better out of a truck? Anyway, here’s what’s been on my radar this week.

Spring Stripes

Happy Wednesday!

Today I’m sharing a sweet striped look for spring-perfect for a dinner date with your girlfriends or a business casual work affair. Majority of my closet is from J.Crew, making almost my entire wardrobe perfectly appropriate work pieces that are transitional enough to dress up or down for the weekend. That’s a big reason I love the brand and continue to buy from them.

This dress is no exception. I picked it up from J.Crew Factory when I was home last weekend because it’s cotton, super comfortable and easy to style. I’m also loving stripes this season so it was a no-brainer. I paired it with brown leather accessories, poppy colored lips and a statement necklace bringing in the perfect amount of color.

As far as bags go, this one’s a favorite. This Michael Kors purse is my go-to. I love that it’s structured and holds all my essentials and it works for almost any occasion, work and play. Definitely a classic piece, fitting in well with the transitional style of this outfit.

I Got It From My Mama

Happy Mothers Day to all the beautiful Mama’s out there!

Unfortunately I couldn’t be with my mom today (I spent last weekend with her instead), but I had lunch with a few girlfriends today and we were talking about how thankful we are for having supportive parents and incredible mothers. We all agreed that mothers are absolutely always right. When you’re younger and living with your parents, their rules and preferences can seem annoying and redundant, but as you get older and live on your own, it’s suddenly clear as day that Mother’s are always right about everything.

On My Radar

This week has been a huge game of catch up. After two delayed flights Monday night in an attempt to get back to NC from NY (I have the world’s worst luck with flying) I’ve been catching up on sleep and a never-ending list of to-dos all week long. It’s made for a productive week though and I have some fun plans this weekend that I’m really looking forward to, my little (and future roomie)’s graduation and a going away party for my Cali-bound friend Laura.

Starbucks S’mores Frappuccinos are Back

I’m not normally a frappuccino gal. My go-to Starbuck’s drinks include a strawberry acai refresher or a plain old iced coffee with a pump of caramel. But… I have a weakness for all things s’mores and this is no exception. Amazing. Try it, seriously.

London Look

So I can’t take the credit for this outfit. I’ll admit it. I stole this look from Kourtney Kardashian. I actually ran into Kourtney and Khloe on the streets of my hometown the day she wore this outfit (and by ‘ran into’ I mean-knew they were in town and proceeded to hang around until I saw them), and I can vouch that she’s as beautiful and petite in real life as she seems on TV.

Anyway… this has become one of my favorite spring time outfits. I always feel polished wearing this Ann Taylor top and love bringing in fun shorts or white jeans to play off the collar. I think this conservative blouse and these leggy J.Crew shorts are a perfect match. I added in neutral accessories with nude bow flats and a cross-body bag (both J.Crew), to top off the outfit.
